It would have to take a pretty amazing entertainer to be able to dazzle Queen Elizabeth II enough for her to get up out of her seat and give a standing ovation, and Raymond Crowe has done exactly that. Raymond’s unique work as an “Unusualist” consists of a combination of comedy, awe-inspiring magic and shadow art.

His rare skills have seen him invited to headline acts in LA, and he has also made many appearances on variety television programs and talk shows world-wide, including the Royal Variety Performance and The Late Show With David Letterman.

Raymond had our audience in the palm of his hand throughout the performance. It was a delight to look around the room and see them laughing in all the right places.AMP

Raymond is remembered long after his shows and is high in demand due to his ability to be able to evoke emotion and captivate people of all ages and from different walks of life. His power to reach such a large demographic has seen Raymond become one of the most valued exports to hail from Australia.

Raymond’s famous shadow puppet routine performed to the iconic song “What a Wonderful World” reached an estimated two hundred million people and showcased his talents on a monumental scale. The co-author of the song, George David Weiss, saw the routine and gave Raymond the greatest compliment of all by sending him the sheet music of the song, inscribed with a handwritten note to ‘the world’s most wonderful puppeteer’.

Demonstrating that imitation is indeed the sincerest form of flattery, Raymond’s famous routine was performed by a contestant on Thailand’s Got Talent and attracted media attention throughout Australia, which resulted in Today Tonight running a story to gauge Raymond Crowe’s reaction.

Raymond’s ingenious mind and creative artistry not only leaves his audiences speechless, he has also earned the respect of his peers, which has seen him noted as the only Australian on the list of the Top 20 Magicians in the World.

The acclaimed musical quiz television show Spicks and Specks named Raymond as the best “end of program” entertainment of all time and US comedian and actor Steve Martin has given him strong praise for his talents.

Raymond’s popularity continues to go from strength to strength, and he has performed throughout Australia and New Zealand and also in Rome, the US, Fiji, Singapore and Athens.

Always busy, Raymond has managed to amaze audiences at Jupiter’s Casino on the Gold Coast, performed at a variety of corporate functions in Melbourne, Perth, the Sunshine Coast and the Blue Mountains, and even completed a South Australian Country Theatre Tour – all in the matter of a week!
