Matt Okine is a triple threat. The multi talented comedian, actor/presenter and musician began his career by becoming a national triple J RAW finalist in 2004, at the age of 18, after only 3 previous gigs (those being the preliminary stages of the competition!).

Since then he has gone on to win multiple awards for his stand up comedy, toured the world and appeared on countless television shows and is currently the co-host of Australian national radio station, triple J. 2012 proved to be a breakthrough year for Matt – His debut stand up show Being Black N Chicken N Sh*t had a sell-out season at the Brisbane Comedy Festival, was nominated for, and won, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s award for “Best Newcomer” award, and had a highly-acclaimed season at the prestigious Soho Theatre in London’s West End.

Okine is a genuinely relatable lad, and his self-titled show is a great way to learn more about the inner workings of his humorous mind.Kara Bertoncini, The AU Review

In the same year, Matt once again toured nationally and internationally (Singapore, Hong Kong & India) with the Melbourne Comedy Festival Roadshow, and was also an official participant in the invite-only Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival.

He supported Aziz Ansari in front of sell-out shows (2000+ people) at the Melbourne Arts Centre (Hamer Hall) and the Sydney Opera House (Concert Hall), and took to the stage at various festivals around Australia and England including Homebake, Falls Festival, and Reading.

In 2013, Matt returned to the Australian festival circuit with his show, Broken Diamond House, which saw him have sold out seasons in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, as well as winning the “Best of the Fest (local)” award at the Sydney Comedy Festival.

Matt then returned to the UK in August 2013, with a highly-acclaimed season at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, receiving five star reviews and a coveted “Best Newcomer” nomination.

He backed it up again in 2014 with sell-out seasons in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney with his third major show, Happiness Not Included, and supported Dave Chappelle and Chelsea Handler on their Australian tours.

Matt’s 2015 show The Other Guy scooped the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s prestigious Director’s Choice Award and has seen Matt graduate to large theatres selling out shows around the country, all while setting the alarm for 4:30am.
