Still in his 20’s, Liam Burrows already is an Australian jazz sensation. In just over a year he enjoyed a meteoric rise to the top of the music scene whilst continuing to develop as an exceptional and unique entertainer, performing at leading venues all over Australia and overseas.

He has earned the respect of fellow professionals and stunned the public with a mature vocal style and stage presence that is way beyond his years. Liam brings to his music a level of technical ability, scatting and realisation of phrasing that can only be described as incredible. Many describe him as a prodigy, whilst others call him the next Michael Bublé.

Liam is not only a gifted Jazz vocalist, he is also an exceptional young man who is a great ambassador for Jazz. He is completely dedicated to his art and his love for Jazz is evident in all he does.James Morrison

Despite his youth, Liam is no newcomer to performing. He began singing at the age of two, played classical piano at six and took up the trumpet at nine. At the tender age of twelve Liam was inspired to sing jazz and swing.
He began his formal training in jazz vocals with Dorian Mode. By the time Liam was 14 years, he had completed all four Australian Music Examinations Board Contemporary Jazz Vocal exams attaining consistently High Distinctions.

Liam achieved further outstanding success in 2008, winning the highly-competitive Open-Age Jazz Vocal Division of the Sydney Eisteddfod when just 14. The accolades continued in the same year when he was awarded the Central Coast Jazz League scholarship for Most Promising Young Jazz Artist.

In 2009 he captivated audiences at the famous Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland where he received a standing ovation. In 2010 Liam was featured as an outstanding rising talent at Newcastle Jazz Festival where he performed with his jazz band and later in the year was nominated for a MO Award as Best New Talent.

In May 2010, Liam was one of six vocalists selected Nationally by jazz virtuoso James Morrison to perform at the prestigious “Generations in Jazz” at Mt Gambier, South Australia. At only sixteen years of age he was the youngest-ever vocalist in this acclaimed event.

2011 began with a knockout performance on New Year’s Eve at Taronga Park Zoo, Sydney with the Swing City Big Band. In April, Liam went on an East-Coast tour with the “Back to the Tivoli” variety shows and at “Generations in Jazz”, held in May, Liam was again selected to perform and was the youngest vocalist by far.

In 2012 Liam was thrilled to be named Best Jazz Artist at the MusicOz Awards. He also won 2nd Place in the Vocal Performance category of the International Unsigned-Only Music Competition.

In May 2013 year Liam won a MO Award for live performance and was also awarded an “Honourable Mention” as a Finalist in the Vocal Performance category of that year’s International Unsigned-Only Music Competition. The competition received 9,000 entries from over 100 countries.

Besides being on Australia’s Got Talent, Liam has also appeared on Channel Seven’s Good Friday Telethon, where he performed two songs with a large orchestra. Other television performances include Channel Ten’s The Circle and Channel Seven’s The Morning Show. Liam won Second Place in the Vocal Performance category of the International Unsigned-Only Music Competition. With almost 7500 entries from over 80 countries, this was a remarkable achievement, Liam’s remarkable talent has captured the hearts of the Australian public and he has been in high demand.

In 2014 Liam won two awards in the International Unsigned-Only Music Competition. Second Place of with his rendition of ‘Skylark’ and an Honourable Mention with “Never Fallen In Love So Easily Before” and he was awarded the Vocal Scholarship at Generations In Jazz 2015.

More than anything, Liam is kept busy doing what he loves most… entertaining appreciative audiences everywhere. Over the past year he has performed over 110 public, corporate and private shows.
