An Actuaries Institute case study demonstrating how strategic entertainment programming created five distinct experiences across a week-long international congress in Sydney.
The Brief
The International Congress of Actuaries brought industry leaders from around the world to Sydney for a week of professional sessions, networking, cultural engagement and celebration.
Enhance Entertainment was engaged by the Actuaries Institute to curate and deliver entertainment across five major congress events:

Each occasion served a different purpose. Some moments called for prestige and cultural significance. Others needed atmosphere, interaction, spectacle or celebration.
Programming Strategy
The goal was not simply to provide a selection of performers.
Enhance needed to create a cohesive entertainment journey that suited an international professional audience while giving each event its own distinct energy.
Programming decisions considered delegate demographics, the purpose of each function, venue and production requirements, Australian cultural identity, and the symbolic handover from Sydney to Tokyo.
The challenge was to make every performance feel relevant to its place in the congress program rather than presenting entertainment as a separate or decorative addition.
Programming for Purpose
Entertainment was selected according to what each event needed to achieve.
Enhance considered the audience, format, venue, cultural context, technical requirements and desired delegate response before recommending talent.
The program moved deliberately from meaningful cultural welcome and elegant networking through to playful interaction, immersive spectacle, celebration and an internationally significant closing moment.
Prestige & Welcome
Muggera Cultural Dance Group and String Sirens created an Official Dinner experience combining meaningful First Nations storytelling with polished contemporary performance.
Connection & Interaction
Hype Duo supported relaxed networking at the Welcome Reception, while Blinky Bill created spontaneous interaction and memorable photo opportunities at the Expo.
Celebration & Handover
Illuminated performers and Atomic transformed the Congress Party, before Japanese koto and Taikoz performances marked the symbolic handover to Tokyo.

Official Dinner
Australian National Maritime Museum
Muggera Cultural Dance Group created a powerful First Nations welcome for international delegates, sharing Minjungbal culture through story, dance and music.
String Sirens added elegance and contemporary classical flair through ambient and feature performances tailored to the formal dinner setting.
The combination established a strong sense of place while maintaining the premium tone expected of an international professional congress.
Welcome Reception & Expo
ICC Sydney
Hype Duo performed polished acoustic arrangements of Australian rock favourites, creating an upbeat but conversation-friendly soundtrack for the Welcome Reception.
At the Expo, Blinky Bill introduced a playful and distinctly Australian element.
The roving character created nostalgic recognition, delegate interaction and highly shareable photo moments throughout the exhibition floor.
Congress Party
Luna Park Sydney
Illuminated roving performers created a visually striking arrival experience inspired by Sydney after dark.
LED costumes, stilt walkers, character performers and illuminated props brought movement and interaction throughout the venue.
Atomic then delivered a high-energy live performance spanning disco, retro favourites and contemporary hits, bringing local and international delegates together on the dance floor.
Closing Session
ICC Sydney
The closing program was designed around the transition from Sydney to Tokyo, host of the following International Congress of Actuaries.
A Japanese koto performer created a reflective and culturally significant atmosphere before Taikoz delivered a powerful rhythmic finale.
Together, the performances turned an administrative handover into a memorable closing moment for delegates.
