Michael Groom grew up in the wild Australian mountains, in a family of mountain climbers. During his very first abseil, at the tender age of 10, his dad talked him over the edge of a 100-metre cliff. Areas of speciality include Inspirational Speakers. Somehow, he got to the bottom, but had experienced a life-threatening fear that he would carry with him for the rest of his life. The fear that Michael will tell you has saved him many times, when others have died. In the Himalayas, fear and respect are comfortable bedfellows. Belinda Neil had more extraordinary experiences before she was 35 than most people have in a lifetime - working as an undercover operative, saving lives as a hostage negotiator, heading up an elite anti-terrorist team during the Sydney Olympics, and catching some of the worst criminals in NSW... the list goes on. As a result of her career and understanding of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder – PTSD, Belinda will take you on a journey sharing her work experiences in some of the most dangerous and high risk areas in policing. Belinda will talk about the effect of this work, succumbing to PTSD and severe depression, the personal toll on her ability to function including seriously considering suicide.

Dr Karen Brooks is an author, newspaper columnist, social commentator and academic. She has a Ph.D. in English/Cultural Studies and has taught and published internationally on all things popular culture, specialising in youth culture. Areas of speciality include Inspirational Speakers. An award-winning lecturer, for years, she has conducted professional development sessions for teachers across Australia and keynoted at many education conferences. Nowadays, Karen has slowed down somewhat and finds greatest contentment in writing fiction, conducting workshops and giving motivational talks.

It's been well over a decade since Libby Trickett (previously Lenton) became a household Australian name, not just for her epic achievements in swimming but also for her infectious smile and effervescent personality. Areas of speciality include Inspirational Speakers. Libby first started making waves in the swimming world in 2003, when she won her first national title in a 50-metre freestyle event. She then went on to make a promising international debut by winning the 100-metre freestyle race against the USA, in the Indianapolis competition “Duel in the Pool”. Not stopping there, Libby also competed at the FINA world championships in Barcelona where she collected further medals.

Matina Jewell spent 15 years serving in the Australian Army, completing five overseas tours including two missions in the Middle East. Her outstanding contribution to the military resulted in a coveted position on a UN peace-keeping mission where she found herself, unarmed, leading a diverse team through the Lebanon and Israel War. The best-selling author of ‘Caught in the Crossfire’ Matina has also been the subject of ABC’s ‘An Australian Story’ and since her retirement has served on the ANZAC Centenary Commission and the Prime Minister’s Advisory Council where she has given a voice to the rights of Veterans throughout the country.

Dr Leslie Cannold educates and trains on inspirational leadership, gender equity and respectful relationships, She is a regular on ABC TV’s Moral Compass and an occasional columnist at The Age. Leslie sits on a variety of boards and advisory committees and is the recipient of numerous awards and notices for her contributions to public life. Areas of speciality include Inspirational Speakers. Dr Cannold has a BA from Wesleyan University in the USA, a Masters in Arts and Bioethics from Monash University and a PhD from the University of Melbourne. Her books include What, No Baby? which made the Australian Financial Review’s top 101 books list. Her first novel, The Book of Rachael was published by Text Publishing in 2011 and reprinted in 2012.

Carolyn Creswell, the founder of Carman's, is a perfect example that it is indeed possible to run a multinational business, and still have a healthy work-life balance.
